Suzhou, lies in the southern part in Jiangsu province and to the East of Tai Lake. The population is 5.7 million.
Suzhou is in the lash plain in the Changjiang River. The topography here is low, it is covered by a lot of rivers. And near the Tai River, there is lowland. Some people call here the "East Venice" because of the rivers, the bridges and the condition of the people who live here.
Suzhou also has been praised as a "paradise on earth" since ancient times. Its profound cultural and historical background have helped make it one of China's premier tourism cities. Among the most attractive are its gardens. The gardens embody the harmonious principles of Chinese garden construction which dictate that gardens should attempt to create a microcosm of the universe in a confined space. The Garden of the Master of the Nets(1140 AD), the Humble Administrators Garden(1522 AD) and the Lingering Garden(1 525 AD) are the most famous ones. The intimate gardens here are particularly pleasant on a misty day and Suzhou's narrow streets and lanes can be very romantic and relaxing.
China Tourist Attractions provide easy-to-understand, useful, quality content about travel to China to assist foreign tourists and business travelers in planning their visit to China.
